Perks of Being a Wallflower Reaction
finished with Book # four! As expected, there were more details in the book which-for a lack of a better word-"strengthened" the movie. And yes, the movie really did stay true to the book, you can really see pieces (the important ones, the ones you know the author really had connection with) of the book in the film which usually gets lost when a book is translated into a movie... it was a grand idea to get the author to adapt and direct it.... on to the next book!
Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
turns out I didn't have to dig very deep after all... ladies and gentlemen, Book # 4--Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. Why this book, you might ask? Well after seeing the movie version of it, I did some googling and found out the book was based on a novel. LOVED the movie... the casting and acting was great and I loved the story and the way it was told in the film... I found out that the author was also the one who adapted the screen play as well as directed the movie, so it's safe to assume that it was faithful to the book and to the characters' essence... btw, I did NOT expect the twist in the ending! I can usually spot a "surprise" twist a mile away, but this one caught me off guard. Can't wait to read the book... it was actually popular fairly recently, during the early 2000s, it even has a cult following... To bad I did not hear of it back then, I used to devour books during those time.
